Hands, monotype print
About three days ago I was flipping through my (few) issues of National Geographic. I was looking for good reference images to practice drawing from.
And it was an image of a Csángó girl that caught my eye.
So today I had both the opportunity and mindset to sit down and start drawing. It is only a light sketch, because I plan to paint it in watercolor later.
First painting I made in our first painting course at Novia. The assignment was to reflect and paint something ugly and something beautiful.
I first considered making this painting the ugly one (by putting excessive nose hair in the nose), but it turned out so nice that I couldn’t bare myself to do it.

I did it this mostly to work on how to build a familiar character with planes and shadows in order to achieve likeness.
